We met at Brian's house and checked - there is 15.75" from abs. bottom of avionics module to bottom of camera shroud. Call it 15.5" for good measure.
The patches will be stacked:
- top: GPS facing up
- middle: ATV facing down
- bottom: Wifi facing down with the radiator at LEAST 0.75" clearance so that we can drill it out for the #8-32 airframe screws.
To help with camera shroud activities with the airframe team, we've decided to make the total antenna stack EXACTLY 15.5" tall. This INCLUDES the FOUR 1/32nd inch spacing for RTV, if we want to do that.
Note that the antenna coaxs enter on the side of the wifi/gps amplifier - may want to route on one side or the other, or replace the large 5 W resistor.
The patches will be mounted to the new avionics module (which has no cutouts) with 12 screws per patch: 5 on top, 5 on bottom, and 2 in the middle of the patch by the seam. We'll mark the end of the module with index marks so that we can drill, counter sink and tap each of the hole in about the right place.
Other Stuff
We're turning the avionics module 90 degrees from the current, so that the camera faces away from the launch rail.
Brian is going do some kind of slider dealy for the camera.
