Go to Psas.xls, SHEET 1, to show bar graphs of Wp,Wi for a SSTO vehicle
Lp = 0.9 to 1.0 is the range of the independent variable
Isp = 400 is difficult but necessary for a SSTO
Show what happens if you try lower/higher Isp’s and lower Lp’s
Comment on the meaning of the exponential curvature on the left side
The impossible vehicles (anything after Lp = 0.93) are still of academic interest and should be discussed to clarify the concepts
Make sure that the value of Lp as the independent parameter is understood when discussing the qualitative features of the solutions, Wi,Wp & GLOW
The conclusion from all this is that a SSTO vehicle is clearly impractical with current chemical technology and this sets the stage for an investigation of 2-stage vehicles Copyright (c) 2000 by Rainier Anacker
