LV2c Launch Lugs
Launch Lugs screw into the side of the airframe. They are fixed, therefore drag in the airstream throughout the flight, not ideal. The lugs slide in the Launch Rail, guiding the rocket during initial acceleration away from the ground.
The Lug design is shown below.
The Lug is made from UHMW polyethylene plastic. The screw retaining is is a 10-32 pan head in steel or stainless steel.
