Solenoids & Actuators
Overview
Currently we are using two solenoids and one pneumatic actuator to control the motor.
- One for switching on and off the nitrogen purge system
- One for switching on and off the nitrogen to operate the pneumatic actuator for the oxygen supply
- One actuator for turning on the oxygen supply ball valve
The nitrogen purge solenoid is a Spartan Scientific 3823 Series
The acuator solenoid is a Predyne 12vdc solenoid
The pneumatic actuator is a Watts PA180 Actuator
Additional Information:
Solenoid Switching Diagram ( not used due to high oxygen pressures needed)
The main GOX feed solenoid is a Parker '42 series' solenoid( not used due to high oxygen pressures needed)
